My expectations were exceeded! I am nearing retirement and have witnessed many cases involving tragedy, cruelty, violence, hopelessness, and unexpected compassion and kindness. There is a particular familiarity with these images that actually summon memories and emotions. This book is wonderful glimpse into the lives of first responders. Highly recommended.
Both books just arrived yesterday. I got #155 signed copy and I absolutely loved it. I shared them with my local ambulance service and they connected with a lot of the portraits. Beautiful work by an amazing artist!
The books are devoted to mental healthcare for the people who are called to the very difficult profession of primary care at an accident scene or in the home of an ill person. I purchased the book for my son. He is a primary care paramedic in the metro Vancouver area, in fact one of the most difficult areas of the city, The Downtown East Side, dealing daily with multiple OD’s each 12 hour shift. This book has deep meaning to him.
